FAQ
Questions people ask
Coaching is a personal decision, so it's natural to want clarity first. Here's what people most often ask me .
Getting Started
Yes, I can coach in Russian (my native language) and Bulgarian (I’m fluent).
Yes, absolutely. I use Google Meet, but I’m happy to use whichever video platform works best for you.
Sessions take place in St Albans and across Hertfordshire – indoors in a traditional setting, or outdoors for a walking session, whichever suits you best.
For walking coaching: We can meet at a place of your choice, or I can suggest a lovely spot.
For traditional sessions: We can meet at my place in St Albans, or at a quiet coffee shop, or another venue you prefer. I’ve got a list of places that aren’t too crowded or noisy if that helps.
A discovery call is a chance for us to talk through where you are, what you’re hoping to achieve, and whether we’re a good fit for each other. It helps you understand if coaching is what you need right now – and if I’m the right coach for you.
How Coaching Works
In our first session, we’ll define what you want to achieve. Every session after that starts by checking that goal still holds, then choosing what to focus on that day.
In sessions, I ask questions, listen closely, and reflect back what I hear. I also draw on tools beyond conversation – visuals, role play, mental fitness exercises – always with your go-ahead first.
Between sessions, I’ll ask you to take action and stay honest with yourself about what comes up along the way.
I offer packages of 7, 10, or 15 sessions, and how many you’ll need depends on what you want to achieve – where you are now and where you want to be. I’m flexible and can adapt the package to your situation.
Coaching vs Therapy
Sometimes, yes. If something is affecting your everyday functioning, I’ll usually suggest to pause coaching and refer you to a mental health professional first. But if you’re managing well day-to-day and simply feel stuck, coaching and counselling can run alongside each other – with coaching staying focused on your goals while counselling supports the rest.
Coaching looks forward – it’s about clarity, performance, and moving toward what you want next. Therapy looks back – it works with emotional healing and past experiences to understand the present.
I assume my clients are whole and fully capable. I don’t dig into the past or work on “issues” – I help you see what’s in your way today and move past it. I don’t diagnose or treat, and if I ever sense you’d benefit from therapeutic support, I’ll say so and can refer you to someone qualified.
A simple way to think of it: I’m like a trainer helping a fit athlete perform better, not a doctor specializing in sports medicine and treating an injury.
Is This Right for You
If you feel stuck in your career but aren’t sure what change to make, that’s usually a sign that coaching can help. You’re standing at the edge of something bigger – and taking that first step feels hard and a little scary.
Maybe you’re stuck in a corporate role that’s lost its meaning, dreaming of building something of your own but never quite finding the courage.
Maybe redundancy has opened a door you didn’t expect, and now you’re caught between playing it safe and finally going for what you’ve always wanted.
Or maybe you’ve already started your business – and it’s lonelier and harder than you imagined, leaving you unsure whether to push on or retreat.
You want this. You just need the clarity and confidence to see it through.
You’re not stuck. You’re at a crossroads. That’s exactly where I can help.
Executive coaching is the broader category – any coaching connected to work. Career coaching sits within that, focused specifically on career decisions and transitions.
My niche is supporting professionals who are leaving the corporate world to build local, community-impact businesses.
Yes. I work with people standing at the edge of something bigger – who know they want change but aren’t yet sure what it looks like, and find that first step hard to take.
Whatever that change is for you, I’ll help you get clear on where you stand, map out the steps forward, and build the confidence to follow through.
